Field Trip - City of Alpharetta, Webb Bridge Park

CLICK HERE for the address and park directions!

We will meet at the first parking lot on the right when you enter the park (it is past the bridge).  The park is surrounded by a one way loop road.  If you miss the parking lot, you need to go around the loop and turn right at the stop sign (left at the stop sign takes you out of the park).

We will have lunch and a short presentation of the project at the pavilion and then we will walk to the bioretention and stream restoration area.  Everyone should bring boots or comfortable walking shoes.  Part of the walk is on our running trail but part may be through a cleared path in the woods.

The project was a joint effort between Public Works and Recreation and Parks.  Rec and Parks wanted to repave the parking lots, nearby residents were concerned about silt accumulation in Lake Windward and runoff from the park, and Public Works wanted to retrofit in water quality measures.  This is a multistage project with a variety of components that we will discuss.  The highlight of the tour will be 2 bioretention ponds and a stream restoration that is almost one year old.
