Innovative Stormwater Project  of the Year Award

This award is intended to recognize an outstanding stormwater project, a unique approach to a stormwater issue, or an innovative method for addressing stormwater runoff, water quality, environmental protection, etc.  While the award may recognize a construction project, the award is not limited to in-the-ground structural measures.  It may be given to a project demonstrating an inventive collaborative effort, a new educational program, or a way of advancing stormwater awareness etc.  The intent is to recognize cities, counties, utilities, or other entities that have pioneered new stormwater methods so that others can learn from them and apply similar techniques elsewhere.

Some criteria that may help to identify potential applicants are projects that include:

·        Sustainable and community-directed economic goals.

·        Restoration and protection of environmental quality as an essential element and goal.

·        Advancement and protection of public health and safety.

·        Inclusive participation of community members and affected stakeholders throughout the project.

·        Enhancement of social equity and community values.

·        Coordinated and integrated planning, development, protection, and management of water and related resources.

Nominated projects, programs, or unique approaches will be judged based on their innovation and the ability for this to be adapted for use by other entities.

Requirement: Nominee must be a Corporate, Utility, or Stormwater member of GAWP.

Project Description:

Upload below a project, program, approach or technique description of no more than 6 typed, single-spaced, 8½ x 11 pages, minimum 11-point font.

Supplemental information:

Map, graphics, photos, or supporting documentation may be included and will not be counted as part of the six pages. If your project has been tested and has quantifiable water quality benefits, a summary of this data should be provided as supplementation information.

Judging Criteria:

Nominated projects, programs, or unique approaches will be judged based on their innovation and the ability for this to be adapted for use by other entities.
